It has been good to see opportunities for temporary employees turn into permanent roles as our parent company SCH builds business.
The past few weeks have seen the SCH workforce expand in Oxford, where we service one of the world’s leading vehicle manufacturers loading their products on trains, and in Southampton, where management and supporting posts have increased.
With Royal Caribbean International and Saga Cruises now part of SCH’s passenger servicing portfolio, opportunities are set to grow further and Pathfinder offers an ideal starting point for those seeking the initial experience that could ultimately lead to full-time positions. In turn, we are committed to offering training opportunities to our agency workers and to build their skills so that they are prepared for any full time vacancies that develop.
As part of the group’s growth, we have also opened an office in Liverpool where the response has been positive to our sister company Cruise and Passenger Services’ requirement for drivers as part of the valet car parking work we carry out for cruise ship passengers.
There have also been one-off projects on Merseyside such as ferrying passengers for the recent visit to the port by the three Cunard Queens as part of the line’s 175th anniversary.
Another fast growing area for Pathfinder is Sheerness where our business servicing general cargo ships has taken off, while Portsmouth is enjoying another busy cruise season
More widely, the economic upturn is creating more new business opportunities that, if successful, are set to fuel further demand and expansion of Pathfinder’s blossoming UK network.
Our reputation for providing reliable and flexible manpower will be vital in sustaining that growth and many of our personnel are making that journey with us. Some prefer to maintain the flexibility of a temporary role but, as our group of companies expands, we hope that others will be in a position to take advantage of full-time opportunities that arise.
